How Much Does a Limo Cost in Dallas? A Straight Answer With Real Numbers
Hourly minimums, airport flat rates, what drives the price up, and where the hidden fees usually hide. A plain-English guide to black car and limo pricing in Dallas–Fort Worth.

Most limo companies in Dallas make you fill out a form and wait for a call before they'll tell you a price. We publish ours, and we'd rather you understand how the number is built than be surprised by it later. So here is what chauffeured transportation in Dallas–Fort Worth costs in 2026, what moves the price, and what to ask before you hand anyone a card.
The two ways limo companies charge
Almost every quote you'll get falls into one of two structures.
1. Point-to-point (distance-based)
You're going from A to B. The rate is fixed based on how far apart A and B are, and it doesn't matter if traffic adds twenty minutes. This is how airport transfers, hotel drops, and one-way event rides are priced. Our published distance tiers for an executive SUV look like this:
- Under 10 miles: $120
- Around 20 miles: $160
- Around 30 miles: $180
- Around 40 miles: $220
- Around 50 miles: $250
- Beyond 50 miles: a flat quote for the trip
To make that concrete: DFW to an Uptown hotel is roughly 20 miles, so you're in the $160 bracket. Love Field to Highland Park is under 10 miles, so $120. Fort Worth to DFW lands in the $180 range.
2. Hourly (a "hold")
The vehicle and chauffeur stay with you for a block of time and go wherever the evening goes. This is what weddings, corporate dinners, concert nights, and multi-stop days use. Our hourly executive SUV rates:
- 2 hours (the minimum): $199
- 3 hours: $289
- 4 hours: $379
- 5 hours: $469
- 6 hours: $559
- 7 hours: $649
- Full day, 8 hours: $700
Each hourly booking includes 20 miles of driving. Past that, mileage is $8 per mile. If you're planning to do Frisco to Fort Worth and back on an hourly hold, tell us so we can quote the mileage honestly rather than have it show up as a surprise.
If you're not sure which structure fits your day, our hourly versus point-to-point guide walks through the decision in a few minutes.
Why the same trip costs different amounts at different companies
You'll see Dallas quotes for the same DFW-to-downtown run ranging from about $90 to well over $250. Here's what's usually behind the spread.
Vehicle class
A sedan is cheaper than an SUV, which is cheaper than a stretch, which is cheaper than a Sprinter. Our standard vehicle is a black executive SUV that seats up to five with luggage, because it's what most business and airport clients actually want. Ask what vehicle the quote is for. "Luxury sedan" sometimes means a five-year-old car with 200,000 miles on it.
Chauffeur quality
Companies that pay chauffeurs properly, background-check them, and train them on client protocol cost more than companies that don't. It shows up at the curb, in the cabin, and in whether the driver knows that Terminal D at DFW has a different pickup level from the others. We wrote about what we look for in a chauffeur if you're curious what you're paying for.
Gratuity handling
Some quotes include a 20 percent gratuity. Some add it at checkout. Some leave it to you. None of these is wrong, but you should know which one you're looking at before comparing numbers.
Time of day and date
Peak dates in DFW are predictable: Cowboys home games, the State Fair, New Year's Eve, prom season, Thanksgiving week, and any weekend with a stadium concert in Arlington. Some operators surge on those dates the way rideshare does. Others, including us, hold published rates and just book out earlier. If a company won't tell you its price for a specific date, that's your answer.
Fees that show up after you've said yes
Read the confirmation, not the marketing page. The common extras:
- Airport fees. DFW and Love Field both charge commercial operators for curb access. Some companies pass it through as a line item; some fold it into the rate.
- Wait time. Most operators include a grace period at the airport, then bill in 15-minute blocks. Ask what the grace period is. Ours is built around the actual arrival time we're tracking, not the scheduled one.
- Tolls. The DNT and 121 add up. Some quotes include them; some bill at cost afterward.
- Extra stops. A "quick stop" at a second address on a point-to-point run often triggers a fee or bumps you into hourly pricing.
- Fuel surcharges. Rarer than they used to be, but still around.
- Cleaning fees. Relevant for bachelor and bachelorette nights. Read the policy.
Real-world examples
These use our published rates and assume an executive SUV.
- DFW to a Downtown Dallas hotel, one way: about 20 miles, $160.
- Love Field to a Preston Hollow home: under 10 miles, $120.
- Wedding day, hotel to church to reception, 5-hour hold: $469 plus any mileage past 20.
- Corporate dinner in Uptown, pickup in Las Colinas, 3-hour hold: $289.
- Cowboys game from a Plano address, out and back: usually cleanest as a 6-hour hold at $559, with mileage; our NFL game day page pre-fills the quote for you.
- Full corporate day, 8 hours moving executives between meetings: $700.
Is it worth it compared to rideshare?
For a solo trip from Love Field to Uptown on a Tuesday afternoon, probably not. For an airport pickup with a client in the car, a wedding day, a night when it's raining and every rideshare in the city is surging, or any situation where the vehicle showing up on time matters, the math changes fast. We put actual numbers to it in our black car versus rideshare comparison.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum limo rental time in Dallas?
Two hours for hourly service is the norm, and it's our minimum as well. Point-to-point trips have no time minimum; you're paying for the distance.
How much is a limo from DFW to downtown Dallas?
With us, about $160 for an executive SUV, since the trip is roughly 20 miles. Sedans elsewhere may run a bit less, stretch limousines more.
Do I tip the chauffeur?
It's customary. Fifteen to twenty percent is typical in Dallas. Check whether your quote already includes it so you don't double up.
Is a deposit required?
Many companies take a card on file and charge after the trip. For weddings and large events, a deposit to hold the date is standard. Ask about the cancellation window before you commit.
